Shovels Down on the Hudson Tunnel Project
We need to ask every elected official along the Northeast Corridor—both Republicans and Democrats—to make unfreezing funding for the Hudson River Tunnels a top priority. Not just for the sake of the regional and national economy, but for the mobility of the entire Eastern Seaboard. If the freeze continues, it will endanger 95,000 jobs and $19.6 billion in economic activity. The reality is, when the North River Tunnel repair inevitably occurs, if we haven't built the new tubes taking that tunnel out of service it will lop off $16 billion in annual U.S. GDP. It will also cut Amtrak service between New York and Washington, D.C., in half.

Share your thoughts, feelings, and reactions to issues you may have had on a recent Amtrak trip. Dining or observation car taken off? Faulty equipment during the trip? Dirty windows & exterior? Communication issues before the trip even began? Help us keep hammering the message home and share this survey with other passengers!
Take the Survey"The National Association of Railroad Passengers has done yeoman work over the years and in fact if it weren’t for NARP, I'd be surprised if Amtrak were still in possession of as a large a network as they have. So they've done good work, they're very good on the factual case."
